Job summary

Delta-T Group North Jersey, Inc. is seeking compassionate Paraprofessionals to support students ages 5-17 with autism and other developmental needs at a Bannockburn, IL site.

The role focuses on individualized instruction in a structured, relationship-based setting that emphasizes academic, social-emotional, communication, and life skills development. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with school staff
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
• Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus
• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (associates or higher preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs in a therapeutic day school setting
• Assist the teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and instructional activities
• Support students with academic tasks, communication development, social skills training, and daily living skills
• Assist with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as directed by classroom staff
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students meet educational and behavioral goals
