Job summary

Farmington Area Public Schools is seeking a SpEd Para to support teachers and students in meeting the needs of students with disabilities. This role involves aiding with motor, academic, social, self-care and communication skills under teacher supervision.

The position requires assisting with mobility, transfers to/from wheelchairs, lifting and positioning as needed, while maintaining a safe learning environment. 32 hours per week at $22.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; AA degree or 60 semester credits or para pro test.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to teachers in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities.
• Support individual students or small groups to reinforce motor, academic, social, self-care or communication skills under the teacher's direction.
• Assist students with physical disabilities, including transferring to/from wheelchairs, lifting, and positioning.
