Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities on the Southwest Side of Chicago. Under the supervision of a Special Education teacher, you will assist in instruction, provide one-on-one tutoring, and help with daily living skills and classroom activities.

The role includes assisting with physical needs, accompanying students to pools and clinics, and helping maintain records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of students with various disabilities and how to support IEP goals.
• Strong English grammar and spelling.
• Ability to communicate with staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructing students with disabilities in line with IEPs.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene assistance as needed.
• Support teachers in recording behavior and keeping student records.
