SCAPPOOSE SD 1J OTTO H PETERSEN ELEM SCHOOL in Scappoose, Oregon seeks Educational Assistant II for the 2026-27 school year. Two positions are available supporting students with special needs under licensed teachers.

Starting at $21.08–$22.70 per hour, with placement up to higher steps after probation; 6.5-hour days on student calendar; benefits-eligible. Paraprofessional status required and background/fingerprint checks. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Experience with students with special needs including Autism, ADHD, and emotional support.
• Highly Qualified Para-Professional status required.
• Background check and fingerprint screening completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct instruction for classrooms with handicapped students as directed.
• Monitor classroom management including physical restraint and movement as needed.
• Assist in devising strategies for meeting IEPs and program expectations.
• Prepare materials prescribed by licensed teachers or lesson plans.
• Implement behavioral intervention plans and safety protocols.
• Attend to physical needs of students including toileting, feeding, and transport.
• Support nursing procedures under RN supervision, including basic care.
