Hancock Whitney is seeking a Special Credit Portfolio Manager 3 to independently manage a portfolio of complex criticized loan relationships within Special Credits. You will provide advanced underwriting, monitoring, and workout support, partnering with Asset Managers and Credit Officers to structure, negotiate, and document higher-risk actions.
You will also lead in reviewing legal documentation, presenting risk assessments, and mentoring junior PMs while contributing to portfolio-level risk
The Special Credit Portfolio Manager 3 independently manages a portfolio of complex criticized loan relationships and provides advanced underwriting, monitoring, and workout support within Special Credits. This role partners closely with Special Credit Asset Managers to structure, negotiate, and document higher-risk credit actions, while also providing technical leadership and guidance to junior-level PMs. Demonstrates strong credit judgment, independently presents complex recommendations to Credit Officers, and contributes to portfolio-level risk mitigation strategies.
May provide ongoing guidance and task direction to junior-level PMs but does not have full supervisory accountability. May serve as a team lead on complex underwriting assignments.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. 5+ years of credit analysis, underwriting, or workout experience with progressively increasing responsibility. Demonstrated experience underwriting moderately complex to complex criticized or distressed commercial relationships. Strong understanding of commercial lending, legal documentation, financial analysis, and regulatory expectations. Advanced ability to interpret financial statements, cash-flow performance, and collateral structures. Strong ability to present complex analyses and recommendations. Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills.
Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions. Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
