Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) in Bergen County, NJ. You will be the first face new clients see, providing personal care, meals, light housekeeping and transportation as needed in home settings.

The role offers flexible schedules and travel between clients, with opportunities for growth within Personal Care Services. A High School Diploma or GED, at least 6 months of caregiving experience, CHHA license, strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lift 25 pounds are

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities.
• Perform light housekeeping and household support.
• Assist with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition.
• Maintain accurate documentation and visit records.
• Provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.

As a Special Care Aide, You’ll Contribute to Our Success By:

• Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits
• Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene

What Is Required?

• High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations
• Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals
• NJ Board of Nursing Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) License
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments
• Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties
