Job summary

Elara Caring in Bergen County, New Jersey, is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) to join our team. You will be the first face new clients see, helping create a positive start of care while delivering personal assistance, meal prep, and light housekeeping in clients' homes.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of caregiving experience, NJ CHHA license, and strong communication skills. This role offers flexible scheduling, travel between visits, and opportunities for career growth within Elara

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• NJ Board of Nursing Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) License.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
• Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities.
• Performing light housekeeping and household support.
• Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and visit records.
• Providing coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.
• Traveling throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
• Promoting Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care.
