Commonwealth of Kentucky seeks highly motivated attorneys to join the Office of the Attorney General, Solicitor General, Criminal Appeals Division in Frankfort. Represent the Commonwealth in criminal appeals before state and federal courts and handle post-conviction challenges with utmost rigor.

Ideal candidates hold a JD, bar eligibility for Kentucky, and demonstrate outstanding research, writing, and advocacy skills to contribute to complex appellate litigation for public service.

Qualifications

• Have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Be admitted to the Kentucky bar or eligible to seek admission to the Kentucky bar by examination or motion.
• Have strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Have a basic understanding of the criminal justice system and a desire to represent the Commonwealth in post-conviction criminal litigation with emphasis on cases of extraordinary complexity or importance in state and federal courts.

Responsibilities

• Drafting briefs and other appellate documents.
• Working with a team of other lawyers.
• Participating in oral arguments.

Description

The Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, Office of the Solicitor General, Criminal Appeals Division isseeking highly motivated attorneys interested in public service and upholding the rule of law to join our teamof legal professionals.
