Job summary

MACOM is seeking an Electronics IC Design Engineer to join a dynamic product development team. You will design state-of-the-art circuits for serial communications, applying strong analog and high-frequency design fundamentals across CMOS/BiCMOS tech.

Travel readiness and lab characterization skills are required to advance products through development and release cycles. The role emphasizes hands-on lab work with real-time scopes, VNAs, and RF test gear, plus collaboration with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics is required.
• 12+ years of analog high-frequency design experience in CMOS/BiCMOS.
• Demonstrated silicon success in Gbps equalizers, CDRs, PLLs, laser drivers, TIAs, ADCs and DACs.
• Proficient with analog/hf design fundamentals and EDA tools.

Responsibilities

• Design state-of-the-art circuits for serial communications.
• Understand circuit design fundamentals and simulators, and cover product flow from definition to qualification.
• Characterize and debug prototypes in lab, interfacing with test equipment.

Electronic IC Design Engineer, SPE

Job Description:

• As part of the dynamic product development team of MACOM, the candidate will design state of the art circuits for serial communications.
• The successful candidate must have solid understanding of circuit design fundamentals and have familiarity with various circuit simulators.
• Understanding of the overall product flow from definition to qualification is also required.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar studies.
• Minimum of 12 years of analog design experience of high frequency/high speed blocks in CMOS and/or BiCMOS technologies
• Demonstrated successful track record of silicon success in blocks/products such as Gbps equalizers, CDRs, PLLs, laser drivers, transimpedance amplifiers, ADCs and DACs
• Solid understanding of analog and high frequency design fundamentals
• Proficient with EDA design tools
• Electromagnetic (EMX/HFSS) and system level simulators (ADS/Matlab) experience highly regarded
• Experience with lab equipment (real-time and sampling scopes, signal and pattern generators, spectrum analyzers and VNAs) and prototype evaluation and debug
• System knowledge of circuits and functions related to the transmission and reception of a wired or optical link is desirable (equalizers, CDR/PLL, TIA, etc.)
• Ability to characterize products hands on in the lab
• Ability to support a product through the entire product development and release cycle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the specific ability to speak to various technical and management levels
• Willingness to travel when required.

The Salary Range for this position is $181,000 - 251,433. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to,121 work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.

RSU Eligible:

This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
