Southeast Georgia Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an SPD Technician to support sterile processing and distribution of medical and surgical supplies. You will prepare and sterilize equipment, maintain sterile areas, and ensure timely delivery to perioperative teams across the network.

Responsibilities include following established protocols, monitoring sterilizers, and managing inventory and expiration dates to support safe patient care in a coastal Georgia healthcare setting.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1 year of sterile processing, supply chain, or materials management experience preferred.
• Certification CSPDT/CRCST/CIS/CST is preferred.

As an SPD Technician, you will provide a variety of indirect patient-related services. You will prepare and assemble medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment. You will maintain the sterile processing areas and receive and distribute surgical supplies and equipment within Southeast Georgia Health System.

You will be responsible for:

• Following established protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, preparing and packaging, or sterilizing, storing and transporting medical and or surgical supplies and equipment.
• Preparing and distributing surgical case carts according to physician preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team. Responding to phone and/or in person requests by locating and delivering commodities to surgery or the requesting department in a timely manner.
• Following manufacturer’s instructions and organizational policies and procedures when handling cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment and procedures to safely operate equipment used in the sterile processing areas.
• Monitoring, interpreting and documenting results of physical, chemical and biological indicators for all types of sterilizers in the sterile processing area.
• Conducting inventory, receiving, monitoring, and distributing medical and surgical supplies, equipment and instrumentation to and from sterile processing to other areas within the facility.
• Monitoring supply par levels, the package/supply integrity, and all expiration dates and facilitates replacement as necessary.

What you will need:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 1 year of sterile processing, supply chain, materials management and or completion of a Surgical Technician program preferred.
• Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT), or Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) certification, or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
