Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Sterile Process Technician to support operating rooms and multiple units. Responsibilities include disinfecting, assembling, sterilizing, labeling and distributing surgical instruments and trays, and maintaining inventory with the Instrument Tracking System.

Role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a sterile processing technician program, and CRCST certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a certified sterile processing technician training program.
• CRCST certification is required; provisional CRCST certifications are not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize and dispense surgical instruments and trays for OR, Delivery Room, nursing units and other departments.
• Prepare procedural case carts per campus requirements.
• Operate washers and sterilizers following manufacturers’ instructions and department policies.
• Verify pre- and post-sterilization quality indicators and report any equipment issues to SPD leadership.
• Maintain instrument tracking and inventory accuracy through documentation and labeling.
