Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an onsite Telehealth Specialist/Optometric Assistant for part-time support in Maryland. You will guide patients through telehealth eye exams, assist with preliminary testing and ensure a smooth patient journey.

The role emphasizes clear communication, eye health knowledge and a friendly, human brand experience. As the primary face of our care, you will coordinate with Telemedicine Physicians, maintain accurate records, and help educate patients about products and services

Qualifications

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist remote eye exam processes and liaison between patients and Telemedicine Remote Physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before preliminary testing.
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information.
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates with information to educate and recommend products and services.
• Perform daily store operations to support exam lane maintenance, restock inventory, clean equipment and answer phones.

Pay Class: Part Time

Pay Rate: $15 - 17.29 per hour

The Role:

A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS)/Optometric Assistant (Telehealth) is the very face of our patient care and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible journey for every patient during our Telemed remote eye exam. This person is trained and knowledgeable about eye health and preliminary testing, optics, our products/services and managed vision care. The TS personally takes the patient through their entire Visionworks experience ensuring their eye exam and eyewear needs are met in a simple, human and bold way.

• Personally assist remote eye exam processes and act as liaison between patients and Telemedicine Remote Physicians


• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing.


• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information.


• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.


• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.

Qualifications:

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.

For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFH)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.
