Job summary

The New York Genome Center invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Center for Genomics of Neurodegenerative Disease to advance spatially resolved techniques studying ALS. Collaborate with neurobiology, molecular biology and computational biology groups to expand data integration across modalities and contribute to manuscript preparation.

The position emphasizes mentoring and teamwork; strong communication and rigor in experimental design are essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, neurobiology or related discipline required.
• Deep understanding of nucleic acid and protein biochemistry.
• Experience with tissue handling, experimental biochemistry and molecular biology, imaging and computational analysis preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication, data documentation and presentation skills required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop new workflows and protocols for spatially resolved data integration across modalities.
• Develop new methods for collection of spatially resolved, multi-modal data.
• Develop tools for image analysis.
• Coordinate efforts across multiple organizations.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication and present at conferences.
• Assist in peer- and student-mentorship; share expertise and provide training.
