Job summary

Aquent partners with a leading global technology innovator to reshape how users experience consumer electronics in physical retail spaces. As a Senior Retail Spatial Designer, you will translate 2D brand systems and consumer journey frameworks into high‑impact 3D spaces, collaborate with experience strategists

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in 3D modelling and rendering.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Understanding of architectural constraints, retail fixture manufacturing, lighting design, and ergonomics/traffic flow.
• Experience collaborating with fabricators, production partners, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop spatial concepts, floor plans, and fixture designs for flagship retail environments.
• Produce photorealistic 3D models, renderings, and spatial fly-throughs for stakeholders.
• Select materials, lighting, and finishes meeting premium quality and sustainability guidelines.
• Collaborate with Experience Strategists and Graphic Designers to embed 2D brand identity in 3D structures.
• Create design intent documents, technical plan views, and elevation drawings for fabrication.
• Evaluate prototypes and mockups to ensure vendor alignment with spatial design specs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop comprehensive spatial concepts, floor plans, and custom fixture designs for high-profile retail environments, flagship locations, and scaled retail footprints.
• Produce photorealistic 3D models, detailed renderings, and spatial fly-throughs to clearly convey spatial intent, lighting, and finish choices to key stakeholders.
• Select and document physical materials, lighting systems, and manufacturing finishes that meet premium quality standards and sustainability guidelines.
• Partner with Experience Strategists to optimize customer traffic flow, and collaborate closely with Graphic Designers to seamlessly embed 2D brand identity into 3D structures.
• Author rigorous design intent documents, technical plan views, and elevation drawings for external fabrication and build vendors.
• Evaluate physical prototypes, material swatches, and full-scale mockups to ensure vendor execution aligns precisely with spatial design specifications.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering tools (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Vectorworks, KeyShot, or V-Ray).
• Strong background using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and standard productivity suite tools.
• Deep understanding of architectural constraints, retail fixture manufacturing, material properties, lighting design, and ergonomics/traffic flow.
• Experience collaborating with fabricators, production partners, and external agencies to bring physical retail designs to life.

Please Note: This is a Hybrid position which can be based out of San Francisco, CA or New York City. Candidates would need to commute to client offices in either of these locations as needed.
