Qualifications

• Highly Qualified: 2 years college credits or passing score of the ParaPro Test.
• Experience with students with disabilities, specifically autism, preferred.
• SafetyCare or comparable de-escalation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements lessons and activities with accommodations and modifications to meet individual needs as directed by the teacher.
• Assists students with daily living activities to maximize participation in school.
• Implements positive behavior support plans and collects data on progress.
• Assists students in non-instructional areas including lunch, bus, playground, corridors, and self-care.
• Implements interventions and de-escalation strategies for students with behavioral issues.
• Collects and records behavioral, social, academic, and other data as required.
• Communicates and collaborates with staff to foster student success.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.
