Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in identified content area.
• Strong background in Spanish instruction.
• Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administration and parents.
• Effective oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach district-approved curriculum to high school and elementary students grades 1-4.
• Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that is developmentally appropriate.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and manage discipline.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth, with district specialists as needed.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, counselors and administrators on student matters.
• Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members.
• Participate in development and implementation of IEPs.
• Follow district policy and maintain confidentiality.
• Travel between High School and Eisenhower Elementary daily.
