Job summary

Blue Humming Therapy is seeking a part-time Marriage and Family Therapist who speaks Spanish to provide virtual clinical counseling across diverse client groups. The AMFT will assess, counsel, and educate under supervision, with optional Burlingame in-person sessions.

The role requires flexibility for a broad demographic and strong cross-cultural communication skills. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, collaboration with teams, and periodic workshops.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual clinical counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Provide virtual counseling support to Blue Humming Therapy members via its online platform.
• Offer virtual counseling and psychoeducation to school staff, employees, children, and families; Burlingame option available for in-person work.
• Work with children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
• Conduct mental health assessments and screenings.
• Recommend treatment and other mental health services to teams.
• Produce written reports on assessment findings and collaborate with other departments.
• Provide consultation to staff and families as needed.
• Deliver crisis intervention services when required.
• Lead occasional workshops/seminars (Mindfulness, Stress Management, Diversity Training, Art Therapy).

PURPOSE

We are seeking part-time Marriage and Family Therapists who speak Spanish. Under supervision, the AMFT provides clinical assessment, counseling, and psychoeducation.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide virtual clinical counseling to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups.
• Provide virtual clinical counseling support to BHT members via its online platform.
• Provide virtual counseling and psychoeducation to the school staff and employees, children, and families. Optional: our Burlingame, CA office is also available for clinicians who want to work with clients in-person, however, this is not required.
• Be willing to work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
• Conduct mental health assessments and screenings of clients.
• Make recommendations for treatment and other mental health services to the various teams.
• Provide written reports on assessment findings and work collaboratively with other departments that may be serving the patient or family member(s) of the patient.
• Provide consultation to staff, family members, and other service providers as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention services for BHT clients as needed.
• Provide occasional workshops/seminars/groups to BHT clients (e.g. Mindfulness, Stress Management, Diversity Training, Art Therapy)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• AMFT by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Minimum education: a master’s degree in the mental health-related field.
• Caseload of 10-15 clients per week with a flexible schedule.
• Agreement and fit with the BHT mission and values.
• Current, active AMFT registration in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Familiarity with and adherence to state and federal laws and regulations, and the AAMFT and CAMFT Codes of Ethics.
• Openness to offer different types of BHT services besides face to face and telehealth counseling service.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals and families from a wide range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds..
• Ability to speak Spanish, or any other languages. Knowledge of Latino culture, ability to provide linguistically and culturally competent mental health services to Latino communities and families. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the clients and co-workers, strong writing skills and familiarity with community resources for elders.
