Job summary

Centria Autism is seeking passionate individuals for the Behavior Technician role in San Tan Valley, Arizona. You will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position requires high physical stamina as you will engage in a range of physical activities and work directly with children.

The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and bilingual in Spanish. You will be responsible for teaching essential skills while fostering a supportive learning environment for children with autism.

Qualifications

• Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification and a Tuberculosis test if not had one in last year.

Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one‑on‑one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence‑based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviours. This role requires physical stamina: standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and carrying children or objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to children with autism.
• Implement behavior intervention plans under BCBA guidance.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Reduce interfering behaviours.
• Work well as part of a team.

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
• 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification and a Tuberculosis test if not had one in last year.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check.
• Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Additional Qualifications (optional)

• Experience as a Behavioral Technician, working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver or Home Health Aide.

Salary

Pay Range: $18–24 per hour.
