Job summary

Prisma International, Inc. (Prisma) is seeking qualified Spanish interpreters to join our team as Independent Contractors for onsite interpretation assignments in the Eau Claire region of Wisconsin.

You will support Prisma's state government client with on-site interpretation, working directly with government representatives and LEP speakers. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience, be fluent in English and Spanish, and reside

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Eau Claire, WI.
• Two professional references who can vouch for work as an onsite interpreter.
• Minimum age 18+.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive or simultaneous onsite interpretation between government representatives and LEP speakers.
• Deliver accurate concepts and meanings with clear enunciation.
• Maintain professional demeanor, etiquette, and respectful tone.
• Follow speakers’ directions and manage conversation flow as needed.
• Adhere to applicable ethics and standards; avoid side conversations or disagreements.

Prisma is actively recruiting qualified, professional SPANISH Interpreters located in the Eau Claire region of Wisconsin to join our team as Independent Contractors. You will be supporting Prisma's state government client with ONSITE (in person) interpretation assignments.

Ideal Candidates Shall Be Able To Provide

• Experience with consecutive or simultaneous ONSITE interpretation between a government representative and non-English speakers
• Polite forms of expression, enunciation, and a high-level of customer service.
• Deliver correct concepts and meanings between speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) speaker.
• Correct grammar, clarity and tones between English and Spanish.
• Experience with following the speakers’ direction, professionally interject when clarification is needed, and manage the flow of a conversation.
• Refrain from side conversations or entering into any disagreement with the customer or the LEP speaker.
• Compliance with applicable ethics and standards.
• Experience in interpreting for different types of state agencies.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one (1) year of ONSITE consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience
• Two (2) professional references that can vouch for your work as an onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreter
• Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older
• Minimum education: Must have High School Diploma
• Must reside within 50 miles of the City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin
• Full fluency in English and Spanish.
• Able to provide one of the following accreditations:
• American Translation Association (ATA)
• Trained or accredited through a higher education institution

Desired Skills

Experience working with Wisconsin state agencies such as the Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Children and Families (DCF), etc. Professional appearance, polite demeanor and punctual.
