MiraCosta College is building a pool of associate faculty instructors for possible future part‑time assignments across all locations. This pooled position is open for potential part‑time assignments and may include days, evenings, or weekends.
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: All associate faculty employees must maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within 200 road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. Associate faculty with a fully online assignment must reside within California, but may live beyond 200 miles from the designated District worksite without requiring an exception. Individual requests to temporarily reside outside the state or outside the 200‑mile limit may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Under direction, plan, organize and teach assigned courses in an instructional field or discipline in accordance with approved course outlines, education code requirements and faculty contract provisions; provide feedback and guidance to students and evaluate student performance; and perform related duties as assigned.
Hourly rate: $93.42 to $113.65. Initial class placement is based on education. All new associate faculty start at step 1.
