Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Project Engineer for NASA Johnson Space Center's Space Radiation Analysis Group (SRAG) in Houston, TX. You will help design, develop, test, certify, and sustain hardware for Orion, HLS, and future crewed missions.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the hardware lifecycle, lead troubleshooting, manage documentation, and support flight operations and verification activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, fabricate, assemble, test, certify, and sustain spaceflight hardware supporting NASA exploration missions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical staff, quality personnel, vendors, and NASA stakeholders throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
  • Develop assembly plans, test strategies, procedures, and verification approaches using project requirements and NASA standards.
  • Execute functional, qualification, certification, acceptance, and interface testing of hardware and software.
  • Analyze test data, document results, recommend design improvements, and support hardware certification activities.
  • Support hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, and troubleshooting of components, subassemblies, and flight hardware.
  • Lead hardware troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations while implementing corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Generate, review, interpret, and update engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and disposition Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DRs), engineering reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Support HITL testing and other engineering evaluations.
  • Coordinate multiple technical activities to ensure projects meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Participate in configuration management and engineering change processes.
  • Maintain project documentation, safety records, and technical deliverables.
