Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Harnessing Technician to lead hands-on harness fabrication and verification for spaceflight cable assemblies in Huntsville, AL. You will participate in assembling and validating spaceflight components, collaborating with engineering to optimize processes and improve quality while ensuring safety and reliability.

With a focus on leadership and training, you will mentor teammates, implement design improvements, and support multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with fabricating, inspecting, and repairing wire harness assemblies.
• Experience with harnessing tools and measurement/layout; includes crimping and splicing.
• Experience using testing/troubleshooting tools (DMM, milli-ohm, insulation/Hi-Pot).
• At least 8 years of experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
• Ability to train others, lead, and present metrics to leadership.
• Attention to detail and passion for space.
• Familiarity with torquing procedures and fastener sizing.
• Interface with software systems such as Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Build a variety of different harnesses and rapidly shift focus between projects.
• Collaborate with engineering to vet new designs for improvement opportunities prior to production.
• Provide feedback on new assemblies and update designs as needed.
• Support internal and external customers across multiple systems and platforms.
• Maintain safety, collaboration and quality to enable safe human spaceflight.
• Contribute to lab 5S initiatives and process improvement projects.
