Impulse Space is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer in Redondo Beach to design, build, and operate environmental test systems for spacecraft components. You will lead hands-on testing, develop procedures, and ensure test assets meet stringent performance criteria under space-like conditions.

The role requires a mechanical/ aerospace background, 3+ years in thermal vacuum testing, and proficiency with LabVIEW, Python, and data acquisition.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of thermal vacuum testing or environmental test system design.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum chambers, pumps, and thermal control systems.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and vacuum technology.
• Proficiency in data acquisition and control systems (LabVIEW, PLCs, Python).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build thermal and vacuum test assets, including chambers and control systems.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, safety protocols, and documentation for environmental testing.
• Operate and maintain TVAC chambers and infrastructure for thermal cycling and vacuum tests.
• Coordinate with design teams to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis to verify test objectives and generate reports.
• Ensure calibration of temperature and pressure measurement systems and troubleshoot issues.
