Job summary

A leading space technology firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Thermal Control Engineer responsible for developing and testing advanced thermal control systems for satellites. Candidates should have over 3 years of experience in thermal testing and fluid system design. This role involves collaborating with design engineers, managing testing procedures, and ensuring the manufacturability of prototypes. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $140,000 plus equity, along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with thermal test experience in a high-rate manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience with sizing and testing fluid systems including pumps, valves, accumulators, and heat exchangers.
• Strong experience with thermal and TVAC testing including setup, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design active and passive thermal control systems using heat transfer equations.
• Plan and develop thermal cycle and thermal-vacuum testing campaigns.
• Setup, commission, and maintain test stands and instrumentation.

Thermal test experience

Sizing and testing fluid systems

Data acquisition for thermal and power applications

Thermal testing troubleshooting

Designing test fixtures (NX/AutoCAD)
