Randstad USA is recruiting for a Spacecraft Thermal Engineer in Albuquerque, NM, within the aerospace and defense sector. The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical or aerospace engineering experience and a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with emphasis on thermodynamics.

Spacecraft experience is preferred but not required. The position is full-time, on-site in Albuquerque with standard hours from 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Thermal design and modeling for passive and active spacecraft thermal control systems across orbital conditions.

• Maintain detailed specifications, drawings and reports; ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Diagnose thermal issues and provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

• Thermal Design & Modeling: Design, develop, and simulate passive and active spacecraft thermal control systems to predict and ensure performance across various orbital conditions.
• Testing & Validation: Create, analyze, and conduct component and system-level thermal testing to verify safety, reliability, and total system performance.
• System Integration & Collaboration: Integrate thermal components and coatings with mechanical, software, and systems engineering to achieve optimal, compatible design solutions.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed technical specifications, drawings, and reports while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Troubleshooting & Mentorship: Diagnose thermal issues from development through operations, provide ongoing engineering support, and offer technical guidance to junior team members.
