Terran Orbital is hiring a Test Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. You’ll develop and support test software to build, integrate, and test space vehicles at subsystem and system levels, using LabVIEW and NI TestStand for automated testing and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of Python scripting experience.
• Hands-on test automation software and instrument control in NI LabVIEW.
• Experience with NI TestStand for automated sequencing, execution, and data logging.
• Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience building test software for complex systems (spacecraft/embedded).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and issue-tracking tools (Jira, JAMA, GitHub).
• Ability to work in hardware-driven, high-pressure test environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automated testing into the software lifecycle.
• Create and maintain automated tests for spacecraft subsystems from functional to performance testing.
• Create and maintain Python libraries to promote modularity in the test automation ecosystem.
• Derive test requirements for under-defined systems with responsible engineers.
• Generate software test requirements and manage them with tools.
• Develop and maintain tools and scripts (Python, Bash) to optimize workflows and CI/CD.
• Ensure robust, scalable testing infrastructure for rapid development cycles.
• Support debugging on-site and remotely during off-hours as needed.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain LabVIEW/TestStand automated test sequences for subsystems and system-level verification.
• Integrate LabVIEW/TestStand apps with hardware interfaces, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.
