Job summary

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a Simulation Engineer to join the spacecraft simulator team for a deep space mission. You will develop behavioral hardware models, build software-only and HIL environments, and test against EGSE hardware in the lab.

Responsibilities span embedded and EGSE driver work, model development, and CI/CD delivery of simulator artifacts. Onsite work is required, relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science or engineering or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities.
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible status for export-controlled data access.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain behavioral hardware models for spacecraft subsystems.
  • Build and support software-only and hardware-in-the-loop simulator environments.
  • Write C++ models and Python orchestration for desk deployment and testing.
  • Integrate simulation environments with command and telemetry data systems.
  • Coordinate a small team of engineers and participate in reviews.
