Job summary

ASRC Federal System Solutions at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, seeks Mechanical Spacecraft Technicians at Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior levels to assemble, integrate, test, and maintain spacecraft hardware for NASA's Orion program.

Candidates will read engineering drawings, use precision tools, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. US citizenship and ability to pass background/drug screening required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized technical training, technical associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience varies by level: Associate 0–2 years; Mid-Level 3–5 years; Senior 5+ years.
• Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must be able to successfully complete a government background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanical systems and hardware.
• Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks supporting production, development, and prototype hardware.
• Fabricate, install, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Use standard mechanical assembly tools, precision measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, modifications, rework, repairs, and quality testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure mission success.
• Maintain accurate production documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.
