Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our satellite engineering team in Los Angeles.

You will develop mechanical designs and models for satellite structures, subsystems, and components, and conduct structural analyses to ensure performance and reliability. You will optimize designs for weight and manufacturability, select materials, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, thermal, and propulsion subsystems;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 2+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting (NX, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of FEA and hand calculations.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME/ASTM NASA guidelines.
• US Person status due to export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and models for satellite structures and components.
• Conduct structural analyses to ensure performance and reliability.
• Optimize designs for weight reduction and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other subsystems.
• Participate in assembly, integration, and testing of satellite hardware.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports.
• Maintain design change records and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with advancements in satellite design.
