Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Mass Properties Engineer to estimate, manage, and verify mass properties for spacecraft and subsystems, including mass, CG, MOI, and POI.

You will define allocated mass, support design, build, and test, maintain mass databases, produce reports and budgets, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure mass control across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ME/AE/Physics or related field
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Responsibilities

• Define allocated mass at program start in coordination with Systems and Subsystems teams
• Calculate mass properties of spacecraft equipment including CG, MOI, and POI
• Periodically determine mass budget and prepare mass properties reports
• Perform actual weighing and mass data collection
• Generate and maintain mass properties database information
• Review designs and reports to provide mass property analysis
• Provide technical consultation to subsystems engineering to control mass
• Support Assembly Integration and Test and launch vehicle providers
