Job summary

Inversion seeks an Avionics Mechanical Engineer to design and test mechanical hardware that protects and integrates avionics on Inversion vehicles. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• 1+ year internship or professional hardware development in aerospace/defense or similar
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
• Experience creating mechanical drawings, assemblies, and BOMs
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, fasteners, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Hands-on experience building, assembling, testing hardware
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design avionics enclosures, brackets, trays, panels and mounting features
• Package flight computers, power hardware, radios and sensors
• Create engineering drawings, CAD models, BOMs and assembly instructions
• Ensure designs meet mass, stiffness, thermal, vibration and shock requirements
• Define mechanical interfaces for connectors and harness routing
• Support fabrication, machining, inspection, assembly and integration
• Participate in fit checks, bench tests and environmental tests
• Coordinate with Production to ensure manufacturability and schedule
