Job summary

Gravitics Inc. seeks a senior Systems Engineer in a contract role to drive safety, reliability, and mission assurance for human‑rated, pressurized spacecraft structures. You will guide hazard analyses and cross‑functional integration with engineering teams.

The candidate will lead FHA/FTA/FMECA activities, ensure safety for high‑pressure systems, and support verification through hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing and simulations. Travel may be required to supplier and customer sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems engineering, or related STEM field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in systems engineering, system safety, reliability engineering, or mission assurance within space system development.
  • Knowledge of safety frameworks such as NASA‑STD‑8719.13 or similar.
  • Ability to work through technical ambiguity and support rapid product manufacturing and testing cadences.
  • U.S. Person Status: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual per ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Hazard & Fault analyses (FHA, FTA, FMECA).
  • Own hazard analysis and safety for high‑pressure systems and ECLSS for human habitation.
  • Develop fault protection concepts across flight software, avionics, and operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate safety requirements into verifiable specifications.
  • Define and execute verification plans via hardware‑in‑the‑loop tests and simulations.
  • Lead or participate in Failure Review Boards and anomaly resolution.
