Draper is a nonprofit R&D company in Cambridge, MA seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to develop system concepts, requirements and architecture for space-based applications using MBSE frameworks. You will brief results to leadership or sponsors and participate in multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes MBSE, requirements tracing, interface coordination, and verification planning across engineering domains.

Qualifications

Experience with SysML and implementing tools such as MagicDraw.
Familiarity with space missions operating in LEO, MEO, GEO.
Familiarity with GNC concepts and space sensors.
Requirements Verification Traceability, System/Product Compliance Plans and Reporting.
System Verification Development, Management and Execution.
Interface standards and documentation (OSi, DoDAF, SysML, interface coordination).
Knowledge in interdisciplinary work spanning Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, Trade Space Exploration (TSE), ML and Data Eng.
Experience with DOORs, MATLAB/Simulink, Python.
Experience in integrating descriptive modeling tools with other simulation tools is a plus.

Responsabilités

Independently execute system engineering full development lifecycle assignments, from requirements capture to deployment with some oversight.
Provide content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance.
Adapt appropriately to changes in program priorities and requirements.
Identify challenges associated with assigned work and communicate them to project leadership.
Adheres to existing best practices and Quality Management System processes.
Continue to expand their depth/knowledge in their technical discipline through formal and informal learning.
Work within multi-disciplinary teams and independently execute assignments.
Help define, plan, and execute engineering analyses/design trades.
Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.
Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicate them to project leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
