Job summary

Marotta Controls, Inc in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The 10-week program offers hands-on work, mentorship, and professional development across design, manufacturing, operations and systems teams.

Interns will complete a summer project to present to senior leadership, with opportunities to network with other interns and employees through optional events. Open to students enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related programs and US citizens.

Qualifications

• Excellent grades, especially in core engineering courses.
• Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to details.
• High level of system aptitude and knowledge.
• Advanced organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience with hardware engineering tools (e.g. schematic capture, Gerber design viewers).
• Working knowledge of circuit and logic analysis, controls, and finite element analysis packages.
• Basic proficiency in operation of electronics lab bench test equipment.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree or graduate program by start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze analog/digital power electronics including conversion, distribution, and control circuits and devices.
• Write procedures, test reports, and other technical documents.
• Product specification review and compliance analysis.
• Create training documents with verification tests.
• Perform basic trigonometry and solid geometry calculations when needed.
• Design electronic circuits or circuit card assemblies.
• Hands-on support of development hardware testing.
• Assist in release of drawings for development hardware.
• Support the operations team in improvements to low-rate and mature product lines.
• Work with other engineers in a team environment.
