Job summary
Vast is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Subassemblies, to support design and build of space hardware in our Long Beach facility. You will work with design teams to improve manufacturability, develop processes, and create detailed manufacturing plans for reliable subassemblies.
The role emphasizes hands-on production experience, GD&T/DFM expertise, and collaboration across design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure cost-effective, high-quality hardware for advanced space
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited bachelor’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or similar engineering.
- Strong GD&T and DFM knowledge related to components/subassemblies.
- Experience with machining, drilling, assembly, bonding, etc.
- Hands-on on a production floor.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design teams to assess manufacturability of subassemblies.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and onboard equipment.
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing plans, procedures and work instructions.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for issues.
- Collaborate with QA to ensure rigorous quality control.
