Job summary

Starpath Robotics in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), CA, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for the Starlight Solar team. You will own processes, tooling, and inspection techniques to scale space solar hardware production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace, manufacturing, materials, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of manufacturing and process design experience (internship and academic experience applicable).
• Experience in aerospace/high-reliability environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test manufacturing processes and tools to enable high-rate production.
• Design and implement precision tooling to reduce errors, improve quality, and shorten cycle times.
• Automate novel processes to ensure repeatability on high-rate lines.
• Collaborate with design engineers to influence solar panel architecture via DFM improvements.
• Establish in-process inspection methods, including automated approaches, to improve first-pass yield.
• Lead handoff of hardware from development to production with stable, scalable processes.
• Cut unnecessary complexity by simplifying specs and workflows.
