Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation, based in Colorado Springs, seeks a Space Security Operations Integration Engineer for the SSDP team. You will lead multidisciplinary groups advising on space warfare analysis, integrating engineering analyses and operational risk assessments for US Space Command and SWAC.

Required are strong engineering program management and systems engineering skills, with experience in SDA, EW, or OW.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or technical science required.
  • 8+ years engineering/scientific experience with systems engineering or analysis.
  • Familiarity with joint functions and space operations publications.
  • Ability to solve problems and work in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to advise and integrate technical analyses for USSPACECOM and SWAC.
  • Interact with USSF, SWAC, SSDP, IC and service partners to address space warfare challenges.
  • Manage contributions in SDA, EW, and OW with data-driven analysis.

Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems.The Space Security Operations Department team is seeking a Space Security Operations Integration Engineer to provide operationally focused space solutions for warfighter and end user in support of our Department of War (DoW), Intelligence Community (IC), and civil customers. We serve as the United States Space Force’s (USSF) point integrating modeling and simulation tools, future threat analysis, emerging technologies along with Service and Combatant Commander strategic visions to craft force Designs. Join us on the SSDP team at The Aerospace Corporation!This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO, which requires 100% onsite work.What You’ll Be DoingLeading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams of Program Office & Engineering Technical Group (ETG) technical specialists to advise and integrate technical and engineering analysis, systems engineering, and Operational Level risk analysis in support of United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) and Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC).Interacting directly with USSPACECOM & US Space Force (to include SWAC & SSDP) and their relevant squadrons, as well as the Intelligence Community (IC), other Service partners, and Combatant Commands.Working cooperatively across the enterprise to identify common program challenges and risks and provide enterprise recommendations.Managing technical contributions involving space warfare, particularly Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and Orbital Warfare (OW), and investigating urgent technical problems as needed.Identifying needed expertise and leading analytic teams from Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) technical specialists to address customers’ key technical hard questions and challenges through data driven analysis.Working closely and effectively with external partners in integrated product teams that include government, contractor, and FFRDC members as an architectural thinker and thought leader.Communicating effectively with all levels of corporate management through timely reporting of technical issues and recommendations.Assessing and advising on the Joint Planning Process as applicableWhat You Need to be SuccessfulMinimum Requirements Project Engineer – Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering:Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in engineering, mathematics, or technical science.8 or more years of increasingly responsible and related engineering/scientific experience, preferably including operational experience with relevant systems and/or systems engineering with system development or analysis.Familiarity with Joint Functions, doctrinal aspects of space operations, dynamic space operations, and appropriate joint publicationsDemonstrated ability to solve problems, deal with ambiguity, and work proactively within a dynamic environment where priorities may change.Awareness of CCMD Integrated Priority Lists and Capability Gap AssessmentsMaintain current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologiesAwareness of Modeling & Simulation technologies and their application into Operational AnalysisExperience in SDA, EW or OW with specific knowledge of employment techniquesPossess insight and understanding of satellite operations and missions, customers, and needs involved with the programs.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government customers.Proven ability to lead technical analyses, aligning individuals around common mission objectives.Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site approx. if required.This position requires an active Top Secret SCI security clearance; eligible for SAP/SAR which is issued by the U.S. government.
