Job description

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Work with scientists conducting research in astronomy, planetary science, or related fields, including experiments, data analysis, theory or modeling simulation, and isotopic analysis of planetary materials.
• Conduct research under close direction and supervision in assigned areas.
• Perform scientific assignments at an appropriate complexity level and collaborate on research and development projects.
• Analyze results and provide weekly updates.
• Present work through presentations and/or poster sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Undergraduate students eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
• Continuing students in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated academic achievement in astronomy, planetary science, or related fields.
• Ability to apply basic engineering or scientific principles to solve technical problems.
• Effective communication skills and ability to present concepts and ideas.
• Familiarity with modern computer-based data analysis, summarizing, and presenting results.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $23.26 - $31.62, determined by most recent completed academic year.
• Holiday pay.

This position requires full-time on-site presence during the 10-12 week summer internship from early June to mid-September.
