Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a TCA Mechanical Design Engineer Level 1 to own hardware from concept to flight qualification, focusing on tooling design and fabrication for rocket injector, combustion chamber, and nozzle development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 1+ years of mechanical design on rocket engine or high-performance hardware.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo) and ASME Y14.5 GD&T drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end TCA hardware lifecycle from requirements through manufacturing to flight qualification.
• Lead mechanical design optimized for manufacturability using physics-based analysis.
• Implement advanced manufacturing: additive, precision CNC, EDM, laser welding, vacuum brazing, diffusion bonding.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for rapid development and repeatable production.
• Develop and qualify manufacturing process parameters for novel materials/geometries.
• Plan and execute hotfire test campaigns, analyze results, drive rapid redesigns.
• Release production-ready models, drawings, specifications, and release documentation.
