Rocket Lab, based at our Long Beach, CA headquarters, is seeking a Software Engineer II for Production Automation. You will develop and support software for production testing of spacecraft components, integrate systems in a live production environment, and collaborate with avionics and manufacturing engineers across the lifecycle from development to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering (4+ years of work experience accepted in lieu of degree).
• 2+ years of experience within a software engineering related discipline.
• Experience with source control and issue trackers (Git, Jira, Redmine).

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and support software applications for production automation and testing.
• Integrate production systems and support software in a production environment.
• Develop software and unit tests per bug-fix and feature requests.
• Create and maintain documentation for software products.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture meetings.
• Document software architecture designs and refine product backlog items.
• Support agile activities and keep tickets up-to-date.
• Interact with stakeholders to investigate issues and drive solutions.
• Deploy software and adhere to business processes.
