Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer to lead analyses and simulations of space network architectures, providing critical insights to optimize terrestrial, satellite, launch, and ground-based systems. Full-time on-site role with up to 10% travel and security clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models, and network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.
• Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
• Experience in software development in Python or C/C++.
• Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.
• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead/participate in multi-disciplinary teams for future network architectures and requirements.
• Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols.
• Engage in systems architecture definition, modeling & simulation, and prototype development.
• Develop next-gen Space and Ground network concepts and technologies through R&D.
• Coordinate tasks with SSC, NRO, Civil & Commercial customers across diverse teams.
• Evaluate and develop multiple access communications or engineering technologies.
• Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities.
