Job summary

True Anomaly is hiring for an Applied Algorithms and Autonomy role to design and develop machine learning capabilities for spacecraft systems. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to build models for object classification, anomaly detection, and data-driven decision making in a space domain environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on Python coding, model training, and pipeline work, with a strong growth trajectory in a mission-driven team and onsite locations in Denver or Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, ML, data science, EE or similar, with 2-4 years of experience; or a Master's degree with no experience required.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Foundational ML concepts incl. supervision, unsupervised learning, model evaluation.
• Exposure to ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX).
• Strong mathematical fundamentals in linear algebra, statistics, and probability.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.
• Passion for spaceflight and space domain awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, training, and evaluation of ML models across mission-relevant tasks.
• Support data ingestion, preprocessing, and feature engineering pipelines.
• Run experiments, track results, and contribute to model evaluation and iteration.
• Write clean, documented Python code as part of a collaborative engineering team.
• Learn and grow alongside senior engineers and contribute meaningfully from day one.
