Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a Director & Senior/Master Lecturer for the Space Life Sciences Program at the 12-month non-tenure-accruing faculty level. The role combines 10% academic administration as Director with 90% teaching within CALS/IFAS, preparing undergraduates for a growing space sector and managing program operations.

The candidate will lead curriculum development, supervise accreditation efforts, and engage in teaching and advising, with expectations for leadership and program

Qualifications

• Master of Science or Doctorate in a relevant discipline is required.
• Experience in teaching and advising/mentoring university-level students.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and some program administration experience.
• Commitment to the mission of the Land-Grant system and UF core values.

Responsibilities

• Teach one to two courses annually in Space Life Sciences.
• Serve as undergraduate coordinator and academic advisor for the Space Life Sciences Program.
• Lead curriculum revision, develop teaching tools, and publish teaching-related work.
• Provide leadership in SoTL, accreditation processes, and undergraduate program assessments.
