Job summary

Parallax Space, Inc. in Denver seeks a mid-level Electrical Engineer specializing in PCB design to develop spacecraft electronics, avionics, and test hardware.

You will design, layout, build, test, and produce electrical assemblies for high-reliability space systems, collaborating across mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. Ideal candidates have hands-on PCB development experience, strong fundamentals, disciplined documentation, and the ability to move quickly

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of electrical engineering experience with PCB design, development, test, or production support.
  • Hands-on schematic capture and PCB development using Altium, Cadence, KiCad, or similar.
  • Experience with mixed-signal, digital, power, sensor, or embedded electronics development.
  • Strong troubleshooting and lab test skills with common test equipment.
  • Understanding of grounding, power distribution, impedance control, EMI/EMC, manufacturability, and testability.
  • Ability to read and create schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, test procedures, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment and access ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Design and support development of printed circuit boards for spacecraft, payload, avionics, power, and test applications.
  • Develop schematics, select components, define interfaces, and support PCB layout for mixed-signal, digital, power, and high-reliability electronics.
  • Collaborate with layout resources on stackups, routing, impedance control, power distribution, grounding, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
  • Support decisions on signal integrity, power integrity, thermal constraints, derating, reliability, and environmental performance.
  • Create and maintain design documentation including schematics, BOMs, interface control documents, and revision records.
  • Perform board bring-up, electrical checkout, functional testing, debugging, and failure analysis on prototypes and production electronics.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for PCBs, harnesses, and integrated systems; use lab equipment to verify performance.
  • Identify root causes and drive corrective actions through design updates or supplier feedback.
  • Contribute to verification/validation for flight hardware and development units; collaborate across teams.
