Job summary

Northwood Space seeks an Incoming Quality Technician to manage the Incoming Inspection Room, verifying PCBs, PCBA, and machined parts against drawings and IPC criteria. You will coordinate with SQE and Engineering to address issues and prevent nonconforming material from entering production.

You will support calibration programs, record results, and provide measurements for engineering samples and first articles, including Gage R&R studies to ensure measurement integrity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on incoming or quality inspection experience with PCB/PCBA and/or mechanical parts; knowledge of IPC‑A‑600 / IPC‑A‑610 acceptance criteria and ESD controls.
• Proficient at interpreting PCB/PCBA and mechanical drawings, including GD&T, datum references and tolerances; able to follow risk-based inspection plans.
• Hands-on with precision measurement tools and equipment; manage calibration schedules and records; familiarity with NCR/MRB processes.
• Experience recording inspection results, material traceability, and using ERP/MES systems to document NCR/MRB actions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming PCB/PCBA and mechanical parts against drawings and IPC criteria using 100% inspection, aql sampling, or similar as specified.
• Verify supplier CoCs, inspection reports, traceability records, and FAI/PPAP documentation and approval status.
• Manage the Incoming Inspection Room: tools, fixtures, calibration, records, and ESD controls per ANSI/ESD S20.20.
• Record results and material traceability; transfer nonconforming material to MRB and coordinate disposition with SQE and RE.
• Provide measurement support for engineering samples, prototypes, and first articles; conduct Gage R&R studies.
• Share inspection data with Engineering and suppliers to support DFM improvements and supplier investigations.
