Job summary

DLS Engineering is seeking a Space Force Identity Protection Analyst to support the US Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. This on-site role collects, analyzes, and reports on information from public sources to support sensitive activities, threat assessments, due diligence, and online research efforts.

The candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills, OSINT/PAI experience, Linux and Python proficiency, and must hold Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of DoD Sensitive Activities experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • BA/BS degree desired or additional 5 years' experience.
  • Fundamentals of Open-Source Research (Due Diligence, Touchstone, CASO, Open Source Academy Certification, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Experience with OSINT/PAI methodologies and platforms.
  • Experience with Linux and Python.
  • Understanding of legal, ethical, and privacy considerations in open-source collection.
  • Active Top Secret w/SCI clearance. Ability to be read onto SAP.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • High level of knowledge on a wide breadth of space systems in support of Signature Reduction implementation in worldwide operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare concise intelligence products for diverse audiences including executives and government clients.
  • Maintain awareness of OSINT tradecraft, tools, and regulations.
  • Assist with development of SOPs and training materials.
  • Execute four due diligence assessments in accordance with DoD policy.

Position Overview:

DLS Engineering is seeking a Space Force Identity Protection Analyst supporting the US Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. This is an on-site position. The Space Force Identity Protection Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on information derived from publicly available sources to support sensitive activities, operations, threat assessments, due diligence, or online research efforts. This role involves leveraging advanced tools, methodologies, and tradecraft to produce actionable intelligence from social media, news media, geospatial data, public records, forums, and other open sources.

A day in the life:
  • Conduct systematic collection and analysis of publicly available information (PAI), including social media platforms, online forums, news outlets, and government databases.
  • Develop and maintain Online Vulnerability Assessment (OVA) reports, threat assessments, and intelligence briefings tailored to operational or client needs.
  • Identify emerging threats, trends, or patterns relevant to security, geopolitical risk, cyber threats, fraud, or reputational risk.
  • Utilize Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools and platforms (e.g., Maltego, Babel Street, Echosec, ShadowDragon, etc.) and adhere to ethical and legal collection standards.
  • Monitor social media and online platforms for indicators of threat activity or brand/reputation concerns.
  • Prepare concise and accurate intelligence products for diverse audiences, including executive leadership, operational teams, or government clients.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving open-source tradecraft, tools, TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures), and relevant regulations.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of open-source SOPs and training materials as required.
  • Execute each four due diligence assessments (DDA) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) policy throughout the operational lifecycle.

Other information:
  • The salary range for this position is $100,000-$115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience and could fall outside of this range.
  • Relocation benefits may be provided on a case-by-case basis.
