Job summary

GeoControl Systems, Inc. seeks a Space Food Systems Laboratory Lead Technician for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role focuses on supporting space flight food systems, ensuring GMP compliance and leading the preparation of freeze-dried foods for flight and research.

The candidate will supervise technical teams, maintain cleanroom standards, and collaborate with health programs and ground studies. Onsite work at JSC is required with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in food service/production/culinary arts.
• BS degree in Food Science or related field preferred; post-secondary training noted.
• Knowledge of GMPs for food handling/production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of food products for flight or research, including facility prep, packaging, labeling and stowage.
• Monitor equipment settings and support sanitation and maintenance.
• Prepare and handle sanitation chemicals with PPE.
• Collect and submit sanitation samples for microbiological analysis.
• Complete required quality documentation and verification tasks.
• Provide food service support for Health Stabilization Program events.
• Train other technicians on the job.
