Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an experienced Architect/Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams in designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining large-scale facilities for national space programs. The role requires coordination across design, construction, operations, and sustainment with a focus on safety, reliability and cost efficiency.

Applicants should hold a BS in Architecture or related field, 8+ years of relevant experience, and a current PE or Architect license; TS/SCI

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Architecture, Project/Construction Management, or related engineering field from an accredited school.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance, preferably in a US-based A&E firm.
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer (PE) license (current).
  • Experience with programming, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of large multi-site/facility facilities.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Self-starter with time management to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current commercial building codes and regulations (IBC, NFPA, etc.).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or similar CAD programs.
  • Experience with statements of work and project cost estimating.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Visio.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain.

Responsibilities

  • Be self-motivating with responsibility for project engineer and administrator duties for each project.
  • Serve as project leader and coordinate a team of technical contributors, prioritize tasks and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise to identify innovative technologies and improve facility design, safety and reliability.
  • Use and develop analytical techniques to evaluate systems and optimize design.
  • Deliver data-driven technical reports and recommendations to management and customers.
  • Develop design criteria and review A-E design packages for adherence to objectives and accuracy.
  • Create scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates and scheduling for facility acquisitions.
  • Apply rigorous problem solving to identify root causes of facility system failures.
  • Mentor team members with orientation and development guidance.
  • Travel to customer/government facilities representing the company.
