Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation, located in Chantilly, VA, seeks a Space-Based Radar System Architect (Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer – Signal and Image Processing). This on-site role leads domain experts to evaluate GEOINT architectures, assess proposals, and guide government programs on radar capabilities and CONOPs.

The position requires a current TS/SSBI/SCI clearance with polygraph and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
6+ years of post-bachelor experience in relevant aerospace systems.
Familiarity with remote sensing radar or RF mission payloads.
Active TS/SSBI/SCI clearance with polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Lead design trades across payload, vehicle, and constellation levels for GEOINT architectures.
Review contractor concepts and evaluate system capabilities against user needs.
Communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to Aerospace management and Government customers.
Respond to technical questions from multiple agencies and Congress.
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to SETA and customer teams.
