The Spa Supervisor supports the daily operation, development, and delivery of spa services at WPR. This hands‑on supervisory position combines leadership and administrative responsibilities with performing massage therapy as an active member of the Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) team. The Spa Supervisor ensures consistent treatment standards, exceptional member and guest service, effective staffing, and a positive and professional spa environment.

Qualifications
Job Duties
  • Performs massage therapy and other approved treatments as an active member of the LMT team, with treatment hours scheduled flexibly based on bookings and operational needs.
  • Assists the Director in the creation, development, and ongoing refinement of spa programs, services, treatment menus, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develops, tests, documents, and refines treatment protocols to ensure consistent, high‑quality service.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director to evaluate and recommend new treatments, products, enhancements, equipment, and pricing.
  • Manages the spa booking system and communicates directly with members and guests regarding reservations, treatment preferences, special requests, and service needs.
  • Assists with member and guest arrival, departure, booking, and payment needs as required to support spa operations.
  • Assists the Director in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring massage therapists and other spa staff.
  • Trains, supervises, coaches, and provides feedback to spa staff and assists with performance management and disciplinary action in coordination with the Director.
  • Provides operational supervision of massage therapists and estheticians; technical matters requiring an esthetics license remain the responsibility of appropriately licensed staff.
  • Creates and manages spa staff schedules, approves time‑off requests, coordinates coverage, and adjusts staffing dynamically based on bookings, member needs, and operating conditions.
  • Monitors and approves employee timekeeping and ensures accurate reporting of hours worked.
  • Proactively establishes and supports a positive, professional, collaborative, and healthy team culture.
  • Ensures the spa is clean, organized, appropriately stocked, and treatment‑ready, including treatment rooms, relaxation and locker areas, linens, and supplies.
  • Monitors treatment products, linens, and operating supplies; maintains appropriate par levels; and coordinates ordering with the Director.
  • Coordinates outsourced spa linen and laundry service and ensures appropriate linen inventory is maintained.
  • Ensures staff follow established treatment protocols, sanitation standards, licensing requirements, safety procedures, and WPR policies.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of required intake forms, waivers, treatment documentation, and other spa records while maintaining member and guest confidentiality.
  • Addresses member and guest concerns and works proactively to resolve service issues; financial adjustments require Director approval.
  • Works with the Director to monitor bookings, treatment‑room utilization, staffing and labor levels, spa revenue, and overall operational performance.
  • Assists the Director in the annual budgeting process and provides operational feedback regarding staffing, supplies, programming, and anticipated spa needs.
  • Actively participates in Village Services team meetings and develops strong working relationships with the Village Services management team.
  • Maintains communication with the Director and Village Services leadership regarding daily operations, staffing, member feedback, and special requests.
  • Demonstrates the ability to multitask, prioritize competing needs, and pivot quickly as member requests and operational needs warrant.
  • Willingly works across departmental lines to support other Village Services teams as needed.
  • Opens and closes the spa when scheduled and ensures required opening and closing procedures are completed.
  • Supports special events and club programming as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Licenses and Special Requirements
  • Current Utah Massage Therapist license required.
  • Esthetician license is not required.
  • Current CPR/AED certification required but can be provided by WPR
  • Pass an annual comprehensive background check.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to perform massage therapy and approved spa treatments for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry linens, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and upper‑body movements associated with massage therapy.
  • Ability to perform the job safely and effectively in a treatment and spa environment.
  • Remain calm, professional, and engaged while responding to changing operational and member needs.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent or higher required.
  • Current Utah Massage Therapist license required.
  • Minimum of three years of professional massage therapy experience.
  • Previous luxury spa, resort, private club, or high‑end hospitality experience preferred.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Additional education in massage therapy, spa operations, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
